I want my mind to be in tip top shape. Drugs can affect the mind in negative ways, although most people who use drugs don't recognize that. Let's consider caffeine and other legal drugs to be "drugs", because they are.

When I quit smoking that was tough. I went through some brain fog, but when I got through the fog I found clarity and calmness. I think I can expect the same from quitting caffeine.

There's a nice Reddit thread I discovered titled, Greatest thing I ever did for my mental health... Quitting caffeine. where a user reported his/her experiences and beneficial effects from quitting caffeine. I'm looking forward to some of these effects such as:

"You know that thing where you can think of an old memory and kind of "feel" how you felt when that memory first was created? While I have caffeine in my system, that ability gets really reduced. Now that I've been off caffeine again it's like I can think of old memories again and relive them a lot easier." - u/Phenate

I found that one particularly interesting, especially in terms of the Law of Attraction and manifestation is concerned, and where feeling and emotion play an important role.

That same user also says this which I like:

Also, it feels like the days are a lot longer without caffeine. I actually love it. It always used to feel like there was never enough time for anything. - u/Phenate

That's kind of how I feel. Like everything is going so fast. Caffeine just speeds everything up. I want to feel how things felt when I was younger and everything was slower, and less rushed.

Speaking about being younger, another user mentions that:

Being off the stuff, you regain some of the feeling you had as a kid, where you just naturally have energy throughout the day without having to coax it out of a substance. - https://www.reddit.com/r/decaf/comments/6df972/greatest_thing_i_ever_did_for_my_mental_health/di395t0?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

I guess I'm tired of ingesting caffeine everyday and the effects of it.

Caffeine is such a popular drug and its widespread use is taken for granted. Maybe because it's legal and common, and profitable. Everyone is always giving attention to the negative effects of cocaine, heroin, and meth. But Caffeine is bad in some ways too.

So I'm pretty excited about quitting. I quit tobacco and I think quitting caffeine is going to go kind of like that. I'll be a bit foggy for a while, but then things will be great. I am an Allen Carr ex-smoker, by the way.

Oh, and here's another Reddit thread about quitting Caffeine that I haven't read (yet), but which looks good for those wondering what to expect from quitting.
