I just installed Kubuntu on my new Acer laptop. I first installed regular Ubuntu and I wanted to install KDE because I hadn't used KDE for a while, and I used to love KDE. KDE wouldn't install on Ubuntu 16.04 for me.

Kubuntu was downloaded and copied to a live USB and booted to my laptop.

I'm running Kubuntu right now and I love it. About 10 years ago I abandoned KDE because I hated KDE4, as many people did.

But time has allowed KDE to develop into something great. I'm just finishing up the install from the Live USB of Kubuntu and I am so excited. This desktop environment is both eyecandy and a productivity powerhouse.

Everything about KDE these days looks pretty good and I'm very excited to start using it again. My formative years in Linux were in KDE. It's good to be back in familiar environment.
