Solar Plexus Pages
A collection of links and summaries of pages about the solar plexus chakra
I think a lot of people are interested in this chakra because it's very important. It's also associated with a large network of nerves.
Here you'll learn about how the solar plexus relates to confidence and courage, and personal power.
This page also talks about crystals and gems which are said to be related to the solar plexus chakra.
The chakra is located above your navel and below your sternum.
It is a chakra that is activated whenever you must speak up for yourself.
With a strong solar chakra you will stand tall and speak with conviction and strength.
It's all about personal power.
The color related to the solar plexus is golden yellow.
The solar plexus keeps you on your true path without being distracted.
People with a weak solar plexus may see themselves as victims.
Shyness is also associated with a weak solar plexus. You can overcome shyness by healing your solar plexus.
"The Solar Plexus Chakra is your power chakra - this is your Core Self. It is where your will, power, and assertiveness originate. Explore third chakra in depth and learn how to step into your own power."
This chakra is the center of willpower. And it's all about the perception of who you are.
Wouldn't you like to sense your personal power more? Maybe you don't even know what that would be like, or what that even means. I think that if you strengthen your solar plexus chakra you will find out.
This chakra, when healthy, lets you be proactive rather than reactive or inactive.
But this page also mentions the problem of having "excessive third chakra energy". I didn't even know there was such a thing. Apparently, too much energy in this area can lead to a person having emotional outbursts and being stressed out.
And then, it seems that having a blocked or weak solar plexus chakra can make a person passive or inactive.
Personal power, provided by the solar plexus chakra, is essential for the capacity to confront change. It's also important to have solar plexus strength in times of personal and social change.
A nice quote from that page which is below shows the role the solar plexus plays in bringing our power out of the intellect and into experienced reality:
"Expansion of personal power is most often gone about intellectually which can make you feel like Sisyphus rolling the rock up the mountain only to have to start again as it rolls back down out of your control. Engaging the energy of the solar plexus brings personal power out of the realm of thought into experienced reality."
This reminds me of the phrase "Experiential reality" which I encountered in and which was a significant concept in the book I recently read called Unified Reality Theory (excellent).
How many of us are living too intellectually, and getting nowhere with that mode of living?
The solar plexus is a "major player in our capacity to change ourselves and our situation in life".
Also, having a healthy solar plexus chakra allows for energy to flow freely with the other chakras. The same could be said of all chakras, but think of the solar plexus' close proximity to the heart chakra.
Seven signs. Would you like to know if your solar plexus is out of balance?
This chakra is considered the "headquarter" of our personality. And many people think the center of their personalities is in their brains.
Apparently we get our personality from this chakra. It governs emotions like "frustration, anger and intuition". Think of the similarity of those emotions. Frustration and anger seem very similar, but I think most would think intuition doesn't fit in with those three, but I think it does, not based on sentiment, but on how it flows.
Ever just get intuition? Ever get angry or frustrated? I think there's a certain quality of how all three come about.
It is said here that the solar plexus chakra magages the nervous system, and a bunch of other parts of the body, and that it even regulates the digestive and muscular system. Imagine that. But consider how many nerves are located in this region.
This page says you'll know if your solar plexus is doing good if you respect yourself and others and are cheerful. That seems like a good measure. But how many of us feel this way. How many of us might take this as an indication that we may need to improve in this area?
The solar plexus chakra is also known as Manipura.
Anatomically, the solar plexus chakra relates to an area where the brain, spine, and nervous system come together.
