I arrived at the library today and as I was getting my bag out of the car my laptop slipped out of the bag and fell right on to the pavement. I was slightly stunned as I saw my trusty laptop fall onto the pavement, the plastic cover to the CDROM drive shooting away as it detached upon impact.

My laptop is an HP dv6208nr model which has been proven to be durable over the last three or four years. It's pretty tough and can withstand being stuffed into a non padded bag which is routinely thrown into the back seating area of my car before it's regular trips taken with me to the library.

But today I suppose was the harshest test of the durability of my laptop. The sound of it falling today is still echoing in my ears. But considering all the abuse I have dished out on this laptop, I felt pretty confident that it wasn't severely damaged and would go on functioning as it always did.

After walking inside the building, I sat down and snapped the plastic cover back onto the CDROM drive and powered up my laptop without much doubt as to it's durability.

It booted up as normal. I rejoiced and was pleased to once again confirm that HP makes very durable laptop computers.

Even the case of this laptop is durable. It did not form a crack at the point of impact, just a small scuff on the corner where it met the asphalt.
