After getting tired of buying my coffee for two dollars a cup at the fancy coffeehouses around town, I decided it was time to learn how to brew a good cup of coffee at home.

I been drinking coffee for years but never even owned coffeemaker. This was all new to me and I thought it would be easy to make an excellent cup of coffee at home. Finally, it was time for me to save some money and start brewing my coffee at home.

So I went to Wal-Mart and bought the cheapest coffeemaker that they had. I bought some Starbucks ground coffee, and to make a long story short, the result was terrible. The first pots of coffee I brewed tasted like the type of "coffee flavored water" that is dispensed at truckstops and gas stations. I didn't give up, though. I knew there had to be a way to make a good cup of coffee at home.

I tried different coffeemakers, more expensive ones. I tried different brands of coffee. I tried all sorts of different techniques. I tried using distilled water, purified water, and Springwater.

But still my coffee didn't taste right. It didn't taste like what I would get if I walk into a coffee shop and pay two dollars a cup.

But then it dawned on me. The coffee wasn't rich enough. It was too watered down. So I'd like to share with you the easy secret to making a good strong cup (or pot) of coffee at home. The solution I found will result in a great cup of coffee every time.

Here's the secret: Use two coffee filters instead of one.

That's it. Two coffee filters.

What using the two coffee filter method does is, it slows down the transfer of water through the beans and into coffeepot. This way, the coffee and the water soak together longer and the end result is you get a stronger richer coffee brew.

That's what I've discovered works. Now I can make a great pot of coffee with a $10 drip coffee maker.
