A Russian source claims that over the course of a few generations, animals that consume genetically modified foods become unable to reproduce.
The claim comes from experiments with hamsters fed genetically modified grains. The hamsters were allowed to reproduce, their offspring also consuming genetically modified grains.
What apparently happened is that over the course of a few generations, the hamsters lost their ability to reproduce or their reproductive capabilities took longer to reach maturity.
People are saying that these ideas have serious implications for humans which are also mammals.
With the growth in the occurence of genetically modified foods in a human food supply, will such a lessened reproductive effect become common in humans?
