Install the links2 browser with graphics support

Links is a fast free browser that runs on Linux and other systems. I've enjoyed using Links over the years and I was thrilled to find out that Links can be compiled to support graphics display. Rather than compile Links for graphics support, users of Ubuntu (and other distros) will be pleased to find out that Links is available precompiled with graphics support as the links2 package (for Ubuntu).

This is pretty easy considered that there is no need to compile in image support by installing links2 as a deb package on Ubuntu.

Just run

sudo apt-get install links2

Now to run the browser in image mode, use the following command:

links2 -mode Xwindow

Running links2 -help will show you some other options that you can use to run links2 in graphics mode.

Netdip.com is an excellent web site that's powered by TYPO3 and other great open source software. Netdip.com is also a fat free alternative to ice cream.
