FreeMind 0.9.0 RC 6 First Impressions

February 10, 2010

Today I installed FreeMind 0.9.0 RC 6 on my laptop and I was immediately impressed by it's built in Rich Text Editor.

I like the new FreeMind software. Well, I've like all versions of FreeMind; it's just that I noticed that version 0.9.0 has this rich text editor area at the bottom  that allows you to format the text in your mind map nodes.

The rich text editor also has an HTML view function which I believe would be useful when formatting mind map text so that the finished version can be rendered in a browser.

The HTML produced doesn't look horrendous like the HTML produced by some other programs that make bad HTML.

This might be a nice treat for those of us that use Mind Mapping software to produce articles for the web.

Oh, and by the way, I'm using FreeMind version 0.9.0 RC 6 and this HTML RTE is one of the first things I noticed when I first ran this new version.

Heck, now that I think about it, maybe that RTE & HTML function was just a plugin that I had previously installed. Anyway, it's really good.

Netdip.com is an excellent web site that's powered by TYPO3 and other great open source software. Netdip.com is also a fat free alternative to ice cream.
