How to fix the "Compiz no title bar" problem on a system configured with KDE.

Earlier today, I installed KDE on a Debian Lenny system which already had the Gnome desktop and Compiz installed.

Using some instructions I found online (http://www.nixser.com/2007/06/04/debian-compiz-on-kde-installation-how-to/), I was able to configure Compiz to start up when KDE starts. And that worked fine.

Although Compiz worked, there was a problem in that title bars and frames were not showing on windows with Compiz enabled.

What I did to fix the problem of title bars not showing on Windows and KDE is as follows:

  1. Run
    apt-get install compiz-kde
  2. Log out
  3. Log back in.

After logging back in, Compiz and KDE should work just fine, and title bars and frames should show on windows with no problem.
